Sometimes the best version of the pose, based on your body structure or past injuries, is the less advanced variation of the pose. Being in a space where you can learn to practice with integrity and honesty means you can confidently step into public classes and practice yoga in a way that honours your body.

Sabina has a unique talent for making everyone feel welcome in her class. As a regular Indaba Beginners teacher, Sabina strives to create a safe environment for her students to explore their physical abilities and believes that “Beginner is the New Advanced.” Sabina completed Vinyasa, Yin and Forrest Yoga teacher trainings under incredible teachers (Clare Gates-Sjoblom and Ana T. Forrest) and is also a bodywork practitioner.

Your Personal Yoga Teacher

Unlike your usual class, you can do this whole course anywhere you like, on mobile, tablet or on the web. You will access high-quality video sessions and learn from supporting and inspiring yoga teachers.

Get Feedback on Your Practice

Develop your skills alongside a class of likeminded yogis and receive real feedback on your poses and self-reflections from your dedicated class mentor.

Each session will start with an in-depth exploration of the anatomy of breath. You will explore different breathing techniques (pranayama) and learn their physical and emotional benefits.

You will learn and deconstruct key yoga poses (asana) and learn how to practice them in a functional way so that they’re suitable for your body.

Delving into yoga postures (asanas) again, you will then explore different variations; learning how to up-level, to discern whether up-levelling in a conventional way is the right move for your body, and finding an expression of the pose that works best for you.

By joining the course, you will have access to the following through the Workshop app:

  • 4 units, unlocked week by week, guiding you through ~1 hour of guided yoga practice each week
  • Additional excercises for you to complete each week, giving you the chance to reflect on your practice
  • Expert guidance and one-to-one support from your class mentor
  • Collaborative group chat with your own private class and mentor
  • Feedback on your poses and reflections from your class and mentor, giving you the chance to learn from others in a supportive and non-judgemental way.

In addition to the core aspects of the course, you will also get:

  • Certificate of Completion once all sessions (including all videos and exercises) have been completed.

Average practice time per week: about 1 hour of guided pratice and about 1 hour of additional exercises

  1. At the start of each week, you will be prompted to schedule a guided video session and to gather all the equipment you’ll need to start practising.
  2. In every session, you will follow an Indaba teacher through a series of movements at home or wherever feels comfortable for you to practice, learning directly through your experience.
  3. After each session, you will be asked to upload photos of some of the poses or to write your thoughts about them for discussion and feedback from your classmates and mentor.
  4. At the end of the course, upon completion of all video sessions and all exercises, you will earn your Certificate of Completion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to complete sessions at specific times?

Your class will be moving forward at a pace of 1 unit per week, however after each unit is unlocked you have the freedom to complete each session entirely at your own pace. You will also have the ability to schedule your sessions for times that suit your lifestyle.

This course has been carefully designed to make sure the advantages of real-world learning experiences are still embraced online. You will therefore be taken through the subject matter week-by-week to give you the chance to digest what you’ve learnt whilst progressing at a steady pace alongside your classmates. Unlike a real-world course though, you will also have the opportunity to revisit sessions and practice whenever and wherever you like!

What if I miss a week?

There’s no need to worry if you have to miss a week or two during the course. You’ll have access to your course dashboard for a total of 6 months from your start date, and so you’ll have plenty of time to catch up if you need to.

How will I interact with my class?

Shortly before your course start date, you will be invited to introduce yourself to the rest of your class via messaging on the Workshop app.

Each week, your class will unlock a new unit prompting you all to practise within the same week (you can, however, complete each unit at a later time if you wish). At the end of every session, you will be asked to upload a photo of some poses or reflect on what you’ve just learnt, which your class and mentor will be able to view, like and provide feedback on, in a supportive and non-judgemental way.

How much contact will I get with my mentor?

You can contact your mentor through the group chat on the app, and will receive a response within 48 hours. Your mentor will also be able to comment on your photo and text uploads with any feedback they may have, supporting you as you progress through the course.

When will I get to meet my class?

You’ll be able to log into the Workshop app and access your class group discussion shortly before your start date so that you can chat away and get acquainted!

What is the typical workload per week of the course?

With 1 guided video session and additional excercises to complete each week, you can typically expect to be practising for a combined total of about 2 hours a week.

Will I get a list of all the equipment I’ll need for the course ahead of time?

Yes, we’ll send you a full equipment list after you have purchased the course. Make sure to keep an eye on your emails (including your spam folder) for this!

What is your cancellation policy?

If you book your place over 30 days before your course start date, you can cancel your booking and claim a full refund within 30 days of your purchase.
